Somatic Coaching

with Susan de Toledo Hulley

Somatic coaching is a holistic, body-centered approach to personal growth and healing. It recognizes that deep transformation happens not just in the mind, but in the felt experience of the body. Through mindful movement, breathwork, and somatic awareness practices, we create the conditions for renewal—helping you reconnect with yourself in ways that are both profound and practical.

The word "somatic" comes from the Greek soma, meaning "body." This work honors the intelligence of the body as a key partner in healing and transformation. Rather than pushing for change, we cultivate the conditions where change emerges naturally—like a dormant seed awakening with the right warmth and nourishment.

Building Patterns of Regulation

Interoceptive Awareness

Calming the nervous system so that we can read its vital information.

Through breathwork and focusing we map the inner landscape. With a steady heart and a clear map, we don’t get lost in our feelings as often; and when we do, we know we can find our way back to higher ground for a bigger picture.

Reprograming Thought:

There is a gap between understanding and fully internalizing the truth.

Dissolving limiting beliefs and habituating new insights through EFT. Release stuck emotional patterns, reduce anxiety, and rewire deep-seated beliefs at a physiological level

Rehearsing Perspectives

Engaging visual imagination, we tap into our ability to rehearse experiences mentally.

Using hypnosis and guided visualization techniques, we rediscover the possibilities that exist within ourselves. We dream new ways of being in the world.

How she works

Susan offers one-on-one sessions and collaborative support- integrating her expertise in body-based healing with an ongoing psychotherapeutic process.

Susan’s approach is grounded in:
Neuroscience of Regulation – Understanding how the nervous system holds stress and how we can shift into balance
Attachment & Developmental Wisdom – Recognizing how early experiences shape emotional and relational patterns
Intuitive & Practical Integration – Finding practices that resonate with you and fit into your life

Each session is tailored to your needs—whether you're navigating stress, trauma, or a desire for deeper self-connection.

Somatic Coaching vs. Psychotherapy

While psychotherapy often focuses on narrative and meaning-making, somatic coaching brings attention to the present-moment sensations and movement patterns that shape our emotional lives.

As a coach, Susan does not diagnose or treat mental health disorders. Instead, she helps clients cultivate body-based practices that support healing, insight, and personal development.

For those already engaged in therapy, somatic coaching can serve as a powerful complement—bridging the gap between cognitive awareness and embodied experience. For those who are not seeking therapy but wish to deepen their self-awareness and emotional resilience, coaching provides a structured yet flexible path forward.

Meet Susan Hulley

Susan de Toledo Hulley, somatic coach

With over three decades of experience in education and mind-body wellness, Susan brings a unique blend of compassion, expertise, and intuition to her work. She has spent years helping individuals of all ages integrate emotional regulation tools, develop self-management skills, and rediscover their natural resilience.

Susan’s career began in education and guidance counseling, where she worked closely with children and adolescents, many of whom struggled with emotional and behavioral challenges. This deep engagement with how young nervous systems learn, adapt, and regulate led her to explore body-based therapeutic modalities that support healing at all stages of life.

Since 2008, she has expanded her practice to specialize in Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Matrix Reimprinting, Ericksonian Hypnosis, Focusing, and other somatic and stress-release modalities. Through these techniques, she helps clients release old patterns, access deeper wisdom, and cultivate greater ease, presence, and balance in their lives.

Susan’s work bridges the gap between education and healing, recognizing that growth—whether in a child developing self-regulation or an adult processing long-held stress—unfolds best in an environment of safety, curiosity, and self-compassion. She is dedicated to helping clients reconnect with their bodies, rewire limiting beliefs, and move toward greater well-being with confidence and clarity.
